Airbnb.org is a nonprofit that provides emergency housing when disasters happen. We created brand guidelines to establish how Airbnb.org looks, feels, and sounds across all of its content. We established strong and consistent design and copy direction to build trust, amplify impact, and ensure every touchpoint reflects our values.
I researched and developed the brand’s vision and values using input from the entire team. To inform all language usage, I established brand voice and tone guidelines, and built a style guide and glossary of terms. My work also included helping define design specifications for film, photography, logo, and typography usage. I partnered with a designer and marketing lead to create the brand book, which continues to define and evolve with the brand.
The guidelines are 60+ pages, but here’s a sampling of what they include.
